GreenSpaces is an undertaking by the experienced management team of the Paharpur Business Centre (PBC), GreenSpaces Properties and Selecto Systems.
Paharpur Business Centre
Established in 1990, PBC was one of the first fully serviced office space product's in India. It pioneered the concepts of “green buildings”, move-in ready flexible office space and paying special attention to indoor air quality.
Rated by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Government of India, as one of the healthiest buildings in Delhi to work in, PBC provides 50,000 square feet of office space across various configurations and operates over 28 support services employing over 550 people.
PBC commands lease rentals at a 2× premium over comparable Grade A office space in the vicinity. Clients have included Canon, HP, Microsoft, Intel, Shell, 3M, KFC, Mobil, and British Telecom.
PBC was presented the “Ethics Is Good Business” award by the President of India at the PHD Chamber of Commerce centenary.
Kamal Meattle
Promoter, GreenSpaces — Chairman Emeritus, Paharpur Business Centre
Kamal Meattle is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in the packaging, papers, chemicals, and real estate industries in India.
In 1990, he conceived the Paharpur Business Centre & Software Technology Incubator Park, widely recognised as the leading provider of office facilities and related support services to multinational companies in Delhi. He received the PHD Chamber’s “Ethics Is Good Business” award from the President of India on behalf of PBC in 2005.
He has been deeply involved in conceptualising the GreenSpaces Park — targeting a 75%+ energy saving over a traditional Grade A office building, developed in association with partners including GE and IBM.
As an avid environmentalist, he founded several NGOs including “Save the Tree Organisation,” “Save Two Wheelers on Polluting Delhi,” and “Nehru Place Greens.” He is also a trustee of The Climate Project – India, established by Al Gore. He has been featured in the MIT Technology Review as ‘The Mad Hatter of Nehru Place Greens’ and presented at TED on ‘How to Grow Your Own Fresh Air’.
Kamal is active across industry organisations: Chairman, Environment Committee, ASSOCHAM, elected member of the CII Delhi Committee, member of the Indian Green Building Council, and elected Board member of the MIT South Asian Alumni Association.
He holds a B.Sc. from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling, and an SM from the Sloan School of Management, MIT. He attended The Doon School, Dehradun. He was awarded the St. Joseph’s College Lifetime Achievement Award in March 2007 and the MIT Distinguished Alumni Award in September 2007.
